My name is Steve Kemp. I chose teaching as my second career after 15-years in the industrial metals industry. In 2001, I returned to the University of South Florida, to earn my degree in secondary education. While at USF to make ends meet, I was a substitute teacher. I taught primary and secondary students from grades 3 thru 12.
I have dual certification in Regular Education Social Studies 6-12 and Exceptional Student Education (ESE) K-12. I have taught regular and special education classes (ESE) in a variety of subjects, including U.S. and World History, U.S. Government, Economics, and secondary English classes.
As an ESE teacher, I specialize in teaching students with learning disabilities. I understand the importance of accommodating instruction so every student can know the joy of learning.
As an ESE consultant, I will help you draft your child’s Individual Education Program (IEP) as I have written hundreds Individual Education Programs and have held as many IEP meetings. As your child’s advocate, I will attend his or her IEP meeting via ZOOM with you or as your proxy. I will ensure your student receives all accommodations he or she is entitled to by federal law. I will make sure all proper goals and objectives are included in their individual education program.
I retired from Hillsborough County Public Schools in January of 2021; therefore, I have the time to commit to the best interests of your student. I look forward to collaborating with you, the parent and/or guardian, and tutoring your student.
